This training is for Mid-America Head Start program administrators and staff in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties in Missouri.
The Active Shooter Planning and Training Workshop will help Head Start providers strengthen their active shooter plans. Attendees will learn about prevention and reporting suspicious activity, expectations of local law enforcement, and active shooter planning and training for their sites. Head Start administrators will get to test their plans through a number of scenario-based questions to help identify best practices and current limitations. Participants will get to meet local emergency managers and law enforcement officers to get their planning and training questions answered.
Registration is from 8:30-9:00 AM. and the training will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Participants will receive three Missouri clock hours for attending this course.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The MARC offices are located at 600 Broadway Blvd on the southwest corner of 6th Street and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Free parking is available when visiting MARC. Visitors and guests should park on the upper level of the garage. To enter this level from Broadway, turn west into the Rivergate Center parking lot. From this level, you can walk directly into the MARC offices lobby.
What should I bring to the training? Please bring your childcare site Emergency Preparedness Plan and/or Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) as this will assist you in part of the training.
