Typically, Muslims dealing with allegations against Islam engage in the realm of “refuting misconceptions.”However, apologetics is a broader, more fundamental science that allows for a proper systematic defense of our beliefs and practices. It explores the “how” and “why” of defending Islam in a particular way in our day and age, as opposed to the more retail and less effective “what should I respond” approach. This course will offer a framework for that method, along with exercises in its applications in the following topics: God’s existence, problem of evil, destiny, science, violence, gender norms, and slavery.
