Hey,
Wondering if anyone that has experience with rabbits could offer some advice here. My Holland doe birthed her second litter the morning of 7/19 then the next morning 7/20 3 more kits were born. Much bigger than the first. Her first litter in March she had 8 which is very unusual for hollands. (Usually have 5 max) so I am thinking she had a double pregnancy the first litter as well. Being that they have 2 uterine horns.
Any who, today she has seemed to push two out of the nest, twice. What do I do? Is she rejecting them? Perhaps they are the first litter? Does this make sense as a possibility given rabbit behavior? If I have to raise these kits I’d it just as simple as giving them the milk once daily as they have in nature? What else does mama help them do?
I am new to this magical world. It should be noted with her 8 babies last litter she was phenomenal and needed no intervention.
Thanks so much for any advice!
