Description

Hello, I am a banjo player looking to join/start a project. I have been playing for years. My style is predominately three finger Scruggs style, but am starting to try to play in a more open, old time style. I am pretty open to different styles of music. I would really like to play Americana/Alt country, folk. I am a big fan of a lot of the Americana stuff from the early 90's: Early Lucinda Williams, Early Steve Earl, Mid-career Drive by Truckers, Robert Earl Keen, Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmour, Billy Joe Shaver, Bad Livers/Danny Barnes, Son Volt, etc. etc. You know the sound. I am also interested in traditional and more modern folk. I'd be interested in old traditional country: Waylon, Willie, Buck Owens, Hank Snow, Ernest Tubb, Patsy Cline etc. etc. I'm a big fan of Dwight Yokam. I am not interested in modern pop-country. Sorry. I played traditional Irish music for years, and also an Irish punk band for a decade. I also play guitar. Haven't done much singing for a while, but once I get warmed up, I can (sort of ) usually add nice, high harmony back up. No promises there though. I just want to get out and play some music with people again. I am mid-aged if that matters to you. I have a job, and family and responsibilities, so not looking for a professional band. Reach out if this sounds interesting. Thanks.
