Hello, I am looking for an engineer to sign off on a rooftop solar project...inspectors need confirmation of weight rating before moving forward...it’s a ranch house with a hipped roof and truss system from 1977, easily rated for the 1400 lbs spread out over 40 lineal feet. Rant- I really love the idea of supplying our own power and bolstering the grid for the [electric vehicle] future. Why does red tape and oversight want to make it so difficult to progress?
