Doors will open at 7:30 am for coffee and networking. The 4 hour presentation will begin at 8am with several planned breaks thought the day. The presentation is geared towards Wausau area business owners, management, supervisors/team leaders, and business security personnel who will be responsible for facilitating training for their respective organizations. Our presenter is John Phillips with the Wausau PD. Officer Phillips was a part of the Marathon County joint SWAT team for 3 years and has been a part the Mobile Field Force as the co-commander since 2018. John has a passion for training and has provided civilian active shooter response training to community members since 2012. We will focus on fundamental concepts attendees can take back to their organizations to develop a personal response plan, as well as an Active Shooter Emergency Action Plan and training program for their employees. These concepts have been adopted from resources created by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security.
