UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Upper West Siders now have two reasons to celebrate New Year's Eve after Luca the dog was found late Wednesday night. The 7-year-old Dachshund was swiped from the Garden of Eden Market on Broadway between 107th and 108th streets on Sunday — after one of the owners left him for a few minutes tied up outside the entrance of the grocer. The NYPD 24th Precinct tweeted an image Wednesday night of Luca reunited with his owner Victoria de Grazia, and the officers who helped find the beloved canine. Thanks to the 24th Precinct @NYPDDetectives - Luca was reunited with his owner this evening. The NYPD did not detail if the man who swiped Luca in the first place was also caught, or if he faces any repercussions for the action. Either way, it's a happy dog day knowing that de Grazia will get to take pictures of Luca like this again.
