The NMSO welcomes the return of viola virtuoso Brett Deubner in a very rare performance of a viola concerto by German composer Carl Friedrich Zelter, teacher of famous composers such as Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, Giacomo Meyerbeer, and Otto Nicolai. Duebner also performs the elegant and moving River Cam by composer Eric Whitacre. The orchestra performs a sublime work by American composer John Williams and the enchanting Symphony No. 5 of Franz Schubert. A rare and exciting musical evening!
