The NMSO opens the season with a performance of the exquisite Violin Concerto of American composer Samuel Barber with the dynamic young violinist Maria Ioudenitch, winner of first prizes in the Ysaye International Music Competition, the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, and the Joachim International Competition. The orchestra performs an exciting fanfare by Adolphus Hailstork and the mighty Symphony No. 5 of Beethoven.
