Description
Milagro House is proud to bring Stephanie Land – author of New York Times Best-Selling autobiography Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive to Lancaster! Stephanie is known for her unflinching writing about poverty and motherhood and her powerful story inspired Netflix's Golden Globe Award-Nominated Limited Series Maid. The common threads of Stephanie's experiences and those of the moms and children of Milagro House weave together an eye-opening, heartbreaking, and infuriating picture of the reality of single moms living in poverty. This collective also creates a tribute to the resilience and hard earned success of these moms and the power of education in creating their path to independence. In this one evening event, Stephanie will share her experience as a mother who desperately fought to break the destructive cycle of poverty, navigate a labyrinth of systems and services essential for survival, and the pivotal role education played in her well-earned success. Stephanie personifies the journey of every woman at Milagro House. This memorable event will be eye-opening and inspirational for all – it will truly be an Evening of Miracles!
