Description
DEARBORN, MI — There will be an increased police presence at Dearborn High School and Fordson High School on Friday and July 29, as officers will be performing training drills, Dearborn school officials said.
The officers will conduct the training exercises during the morning and early afternoon hours, using only a small section of each school, officials said.
Students and most staff members will not be at the schools on those days. Summer school at the high school is not in session on Friday and the program ends on Thursday, July 28, officials said.
"As always, we are glad to have a great working relationship with the Dearborn Police Department," Dearborn Public Schools Superintendent Glenn Maleyko said. "Allowing them to perform training in our buildings when the students are not there helps the police be better prepared if an emergency should occur, and that preparation benefits the entire community."
