Description
A friend of a friend of mine had a pet budgie in a very small cage with little interaction so I took it home and took care of it while waiting for a bigger cage.
We've been told its a boy, but its a very shy bird that's not hand trained. It isn't aggressive and generally likes company.
I'm asking for $70 to cover the cost of 2 cages (it's original home (14x11x18) and the larger cage (18x14x41) I bought. I only recommend using the smaller cage for travelling), a bag of food/spray millet, and several toys. I paid $87 in total for the brand new cage and toys. Cost is negotiable.
My goal is to ensure this bird gets the best possible life, and while I never wanted a bird nor can I give it that life, I've hopefully set it up for success. It would do better with a budgie friend, which could reasonably fit in the same cage provided. Budgies are good for beginner bird owners but I really encourage anyone looking for a bird to research proper cage sizes, ideal environments, and a diet that mirrors the diet the bird would eat in the wild.
We call the bird Sofia (we named it before we knew it's sex), it likes rock music, and it's very quiet at night, which is a plus.
