For years now I've had it in my head that some hybrid of chillwave, shoegaze and post-metal could absolutely slay, and I think now is the time to get the wheels turning. No-chill-wave? Dream metal? Dreadcore? The evil bastard child of Tycho + Russian Circles? I'm thinking heavy beats, detuned/washy guitars, synths, ambient/post-rock passages, and brutal riffage/breakdowns. Not too keen on djent/desktop metal/8chan prog stuff, but I'll throw out as wide a net as possible for now. My brain can't handle more than like 20 seconds of stuff like Architects, Chon or Polyphia. Sorry.
About me: late 30's, steady WFH job, car, gig-ready gear/setup, proficient with pedals, MIDI, Ableton Live, synths, samples, etc. I own a house in the Birdtown section of Lakewood so that could work for jam sessions, however I would like to move into a proper practice space if this thing gets off the ground.
