IMMEDIATE NEED! - Help me Short-list/find a Rental Home to Move Into!

Jobs

Mountain View CA

Description

My assignment involves: understanding my home search criteria, and searching for appropriate rental homes (on Zillow, Craigslist etc. as appropriate), short-listing homes per my criteria, calling property managers/home owners for more information as needed, and creating a spreadsheet of the homes for easy tracking (e.g. in Google sheets). Getting all the info. about a property will be critical, as these homes will be far from where I currently live, so screeing carefully will be key to short-listing the best candidate properties/homes, so that we check only those homes out. Optionally/additionally, going and checking out the homes to take certain measurements (to check if my office will fit in (or can be adjusted in the new place), and take photos/videos of the potential home (specifically as per my needs; typically the photos etc. supplied in the property ads are not sufficient for my needs; I may need specific measurements of rooms to know if my furniture, particularly my office setup, will fit in the new home), so a decision can be made about applying for that home. Since I am under a time crunch to find a new place to move into, but also have work-related projects that are going to be taking up a lot of my own time in the next few weeks, I need help on this project. I currently reside in Fremont (Northgate area) but you could be located anywhere else in the greater Bay Area, and am looking to move between 1.5-3.5 hours away in any direction (e.g. Roseville/Folsom/Antelope, or Davis/Dixon/Woodland, or Tracy/Mountain House, or Murphys/Angel Camp, Lathrop/Manteca, Los Gatos, Gilroy), and need help short-listing homes for rent in the towns I identify, according to my home search criteria (which will be explained to whoever takes the assignment to help me). This project could be ideal for: a) Students/interns who are good with searching on the Internet, and in calling, and resourceful in obtaining information. And, optionally, can drive to check out homes and perhaps make a short video/take photos b) Other professionals who do such freelance work on the side. b) Or, for a real-estate professional who can help find a rental home for me, as per my criteria. The issue there is that since I'm looking at a number of towns within 2-3 hours of say Fremont, a single professional may not know about all areas. Although, I believe any good real-estate professional in the Bay Area would know enough (certainly way more than I do!) to be able to help me find a home to move into. -- I need this project done in the next 2 weeks, so that ideally, by early August, I have identified a home to move into, and finished the viewing and the application process. -- A fundamental REQUIREMENT is to be able speak with and interact with me several times during the day (as we have to tag team on several tasks, and dynamically take decisions etc.) and interact with the property managers/owners during the day as well, and you MUST be able to, willing to, understand the importance of, AND have the time flexibility to do this. Otherwise, this assignment is not for you. When responding, please let me know: i) Who you are professionally? (ii) Your qualifications/skills to do this assignment and/or your resume. ii) What you would charge for this assignment - per hour, and/or some other way (finder's fee etc.). And, for gas/mileage. iii) Your contact information, so I may speak directly with you to interview you. iv) Two references that I may talk to - please be ready to provide their name/phone numbers when requested. (And, these should not just be friends/relatives etc. - those will not count). **Please respond via email through Craigslist, as that would be the easiest way for you to provide answers to the questions above and/or to ask anything that is not clear.** I have also provided my phone number in case there is a problem with email, or you need to speak with me. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME IN THE DAY TO DO THIS ASSIGNMENT, and can only "work at night" etc, because most of the calling etc. needs to be in the day. PLEASE ALSO DO NOT RESPOND IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF RESPONSIBILITY AND do not understand the basics of what it means to work on a project: that it is YOUR JOB (WHEN TAKING UP A JOB) TO BE AN ASSET AND NOT A LIABILITY! So, if you cannot take initiative and be responsive, reactive, and fast, and need me to be (or God forbit expect!) me to be running after you, this job is CERTAINLY NOT for you. Please also do not respond, if you have or anticipate a lot of other committments that will make you drop the job in the middle - that is a waste for both. This should be an interesting but challenging assignment for the right candidate who is smart and resourceful. I look forward to working with you!
