Then our new Full Time Stringer Position might be the job for you! Gemisphere is the premier resource for the world’s finest therapeutic quality gemstones. Our decades-long mission has been to share the wonder, brilliance and energy of our gemstones with the world. From our location in NW Portland, we source gemstones, create amazing necklaces and gemstone tools and ship them around the world. What we are looking for (in other words, requirements for the job): • Dexterous hands – you will be stringing beads on thread and tying knots all day! So please only apply if you can use your hands and wrists for long periods of time. • Ability to focus on the repetitive task of stringing semi-precious gemstone beads using the pearl knotting technique. While experience in this would be ideal – we are willing to teach someone this technique, if you are good with your hands and willing to learn. • Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision. We are a small team, and we all work together. Each person is responsible for their own tasks! • Interest in a position doing the same thing repeatedly! Playing with these gemstones can be a lot of fun, but if you’re prone to boredom, or way too easily distracted, this might not be a good fit for you. • Ability to discern slight variations in color and transparency. You’ll be working with gemstones – and along with stringing them together to form necklaces, you will be taught how to properly arrange them. And that will include identifying specific attributes of the different gems. • Detail oriented! The gems are small, and need to be taken care of. And the necklaces are expensive and beautiful! The better job you do of stringing the necklaces, the better chance we have of selling them! • Self-motivation!! Finished with a task? Ask for the next project! Some further details about the position: • $15 hourly wage • Health insurance (50% paid by the company) after 60 days of employment • Vacation & sick time accrued throughout the year • 401(k) after one year of employment • Employee discount on all our products • Office hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday (some additional hours for overtime are available throughout the year) What’s the next step?
