Wanted: Use of land for community garden

Events

Los Angeles CA

Description

Do you know of any empty land that would be suitable for a community garden, in the area roughly from Leimert Park north through Koreatown? Do you think a not-for-profit community garden, with most of the gardeners being local to your area, would be an asset? I work with a nonprofit community garden organization in Los Angeles. We know how to find gardeners, set up the legalities, obtain grants to fund the infrastructure, build the garden, and coach the initial management of the garden. What we need is access to nonpolluted land for at least 3 years. The land should be at least half the size of a house lot, up to a double house lot or even bigger. It needs to have a high fence, and ideally, water service. Ideally it is in a residential area, with street parking. Private, non-profit, or public land. The gardeners pay for insurance for the landowner, water, and infrastructure. We have a lot of experience starting and maintaining gardens. We know that gardens bring a bit of nature into the city, and very little downside. Contact me (B) for more information, no obligation.
