why post ads looking for players and then not respond?

So, whats the deal with people posting ads on here and then not responding when someone shows an interest in their ad? Is this a regional quirk where people just kick tires and put out feelers but don’t ever interact or pursue communicating with anyone? Sorry, I’m new to town. Flame away…
