Come join the Project CHANGE 2021-22 AmeriCorps team that has served high needs students of Montgomery County this year and celebrate their graduation by watching how they have documented their experience through film. Working with award winning documentary film maker, Ahmed Mansour, members created short works such as "Get a Life-Get an Education" Akufuna Ngonda at MCPC Sligo Middle School "The challenges of serving and staying mentally healthy" Marianna Bohannon with Community Bridges "Gaming is Learning" Jakobe Cotton at Sligo Middle School "Challenging the stigma of Mental Illness" Sabrea Nicole at Community Bridges "When life comes apart, weaving it back in service" Zack Gordon at MCPS leadership Team "Waking up kids to learn through Art." Hector Catano and Arts on the Block "The immigrant story of my kids and me", Walter Carcamo at Montgomery Housing Partnership "The journey of a refugee to AmeriCorps," Fatou Touray at Community Bridges There will be a light luncheon served from 2-30pm and the event ends at 4.30pm. Tickets are Free but AFI requires proof of vaccination for admission The challenges of serving with AmeriCorps after the pandemic.
