What could make for a better Saturday morning than a ride with new friends?Join SVBC at Sports Basement - Redwood City on Saturday, August 20th to meet some new folks and give City Staff some ideas to improve the Vera Ave Bike Boulevard! We'll be pedaling roughly 5.5 miles at an average of 10-11 mph, on city streets and bike lanes. Once we're on Vera Ave, we'll be stopping in different locations to discuss improvements we'd like to see. This ride is appropriate for e-bikes, bikes, tandems, recumbents, trikes, and bikes with trailers. Youth are welcome to join this ride as long as they can ride confidently and safely without training wheels, but keep in mind we'll be stopping to talk a lot! https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40248923 We'll begin gathering around 10 and leave shortly after 10:30 AM after checking in and doing introductions. (North and southbound trains arrive at the RWC Caltrain Station at 9:56 and 9:21, respectively). We'll regroup regularly, with no one left behind. Together with city staff, we will discuss what we like about the Vera bike blvd quick build, and what can be improved. After the ride, we'll arrive back at Sports Basement. We recommend that all participants bring water, a snack, layers, sunblock, and a spare tube or a flat kit.
