Region Neighbors for Sustainability, a workshop for region residents interested in finding out what other communities are doing and what they can do to work on sustainability issues in their own towns/cities. Speakers/group discussion. Free event. Registration is limited. Hear Andie Jahnz-Davis, a member of the Michigan City Sustainability Commission and Alex Bazan, employed in the South Bend Office of Sustainability and a climate activist, discuss their work. Attendees will learn about a local sustainability commission and its benefits. Attendees will hear examples of how a municipal Office of Sustainability works. A connection will be drawn to the greater challenges of organizing for sustainability/climate action and the roles of a commission and an Office of Sustainability. Everyone leaves the meeting connected to one another with some goals to accomplish and a set date to accomplish them.
