Bay Club of Fremont is looking for entry level technicians to join our team. Bay Club is a private sports and leisure club located across California and Oregon. We are currently in need of people interested in joining our facilities department. Facility technicians will report to the Club Facility Director. Technicians will be responsible for building and grounds repair and maintenance. Qualified candidates should have basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting and drywall repair. Pool knowledge and certification is a plus, but is not required as training will be provided. The Bay Club offers excellent benefits for full time employees. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Preventative Maintenance- Responsibility of the building such as pool vacuuming and testing / adjusting pool water chemicals, plumbing, light electrical and painting. Plumbing- clear out clogged drains and traps, repair broken or leaking pipes, valves and fittings. Electrical- repair or replace outlets, switches, and other low voltage fixtures. Be familiar with testing and repair equipment. Instruction will be provided if necessary. Pool(s) maintenance- Be able to do basic water chemical tests. Pool experience or certification is a plus, but not required. Training and certification will be provided. Painting and Drywall- Ability to paint and patch drywall, touch-up various locations around the facility using high lifts and ladders. Cleaning- Must be able to operate cleaning equipment such as power washers, ride on vacuums and sweepers, and various hard surface floor cleaning machines. Be an Active Participant - in events, programs, meetings, and training. The Bay Club offers on the job training in all these fields and more for the right candidates. One year or more in a similar role, or in the hospitality industry in general is a plus. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills as we interact with members and guest questions / concerns on a daily basis. Be able to walk the club daily and note any issues to the Facilities Director. Display a professional and friendly attitude at all times. Must be available for night and weekend shifts. Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to sit; stand; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The Associate is occasionally required to walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The language skills, reasoning ability, physical demands, and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
