Hello craigslist, I’ve got a purple Thai Devil Crab for rehoming. He’s a rescue, and this species has lot of misinformation about their care online (as most crabs do) so if you don’t know much about them please feel free to reach out and ask questions. I currently have this guy in a quarantine setup, which I can provide photos of if you’d like a basic idea of a decent layout. I’ll put some general care info below. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re interested, I’m more than willing to help you figure out if this is the best pet for you. Thanks! Basic care: These guys are terrestrial crabs but do love a good soak. He’ll need a dish of freshwater, and a dish of saltwater, both deep enough for the crab to fully submerge himself. He’ll also need several inches of sand/reptisoil or eco earth mixture for burrowing in, and fresh fruits, veggies, and protein daily. A cuttlebone or sprinkle of calcium on his food will be necessary as well. These crabs prefer temperatures of around 75 degrees, and moderate humidity which they require to breathe.
