Through his practice, Phillips moves beyond familiar forms and creates contexts for spontaneous discovery. Improvisation, interpretations of the canon, and catalyzing compositions motivate his explorations, inviting the listener to engage unforeseen gamuts. Alex Jacobsen is a media artist and composer. Their work explores spatial-temporal degradation; focusing on the plasticity of echoic memory and aiming to provide audiences with a deeper understanding of everyday spaces. Alex often performs live music using feedback, processed sounds and amplified objects. Their work has been shown and performed across the Midwest and Europe including Radiophrenia Art Festival, ESS’s Quarantine Concert Series, and Konvent Puntzero in Spain. Nathan Brumbaugh is a performer, director, choreographer, and collaborator with a background in martial arts and gymnastics, along with being a trained dancer. Brumbaugh’s works and collaborations have been seen all over the world. His works extend from very intimate venues, to vertical stages in national parks, music videos, to live performances with artists like Peaches, Snoop Dog, Amanda Palmer, Rosen Covent, and Ryn Weaver-to name a few. Fascinated by the world of science, sex, politics, society, and the ability to have a creative voice in this life, he takes every opportunity to look fear and uncertainty in the eye with a fresh and lively new twist.
