This Chico four-piece puts a bunch of genres in the blender and emerges with a kaleidoscopic dance party soundtrack. Their high-energy approach traverses jam-rock, funk, Latin and reggae. They even have an electric fiddle when it’s time to bust out some bluegrass. Guitarist Don Jules is one of those vibey frontmen who can rip the heck out of his instrument and carry a soulful vocal presence that far exceeds his youthful age. In addition to catchy originals, their selection of covers is totally gangbusters. Their command of the Talking Heads catalog sets them apart from almost any other. Deep cuts by Jamiroquai and Lotus threw us for a loop. Ultimately music is all about having fun and these guys certainly carry that torch with gusto!
