Grand Rapids is going to the dogs! We're closing the 2022 pool season with another pawsome event at Richmond Pool. The event is free and open to all community members but pre-registration is required. Event FormatThe event is split into four 1-hour sessions. Each session has room for 200 dogs. We want to make sure every dog has a chance to swim, please only register for one session. Session 1: Small Dogs12:00 - 1:00 pmMeant for dogs under 35 poundsSession 2: Large Dogs I1:15 - 2:15 pmMeant for dogs over 35 poundsSession 3: Large Dogs II2:30 - 3:30 pmMeant for dogs over 35 poundsSession 4: Older Dogs3:45 - 4:45 pmMeant for dogs ages 8+Event day remindersWe'll provide: Dog waste bagsDrinking water for dogsLOTS of tennis ballsWhat you'll need to bring: Paper proof of rabies vaccination (if you didn't upload them when registering)Leash for taking your dog in and out of the pool areaA towel (optional, but recommended)A dog life jacket (optional, but recommended)Paw booties (optional, but recommended)Rules: You may enter the water up to your kneesYour dog(s) must be on a leash when entering and leaving the poolYou must remain with your dog at all timesYour dog must always be wearing a collarPlease leave all personal toys and treats at homeYou are responsible to clean up after your dogIf your dog(s) is acting aggressively, you will need to remove yourself and your dog(s) from the pool areaQuestionsIf you have any additional questions, please contact the Grand Rapids Parks & Recreation department.
