Funeral Assistant/Driver

Part Funeral Attendant/Part Handyman/Driver- Part Time $17 hr. This position is being offered by a family owned funeral home in Southeast San Diego. We are in need of a responsible person, who can be on time on days scheduled (usually 30 hr work week) sometimes more if we are busy, some Saturdays hours, but they are rare, Good driving record, vaccinated preferred ( will be in closed areas such as our chapel or churches for funerals with sometimes large attendance) Assist with some small maintenance around the facility, painting touch ups, changing air filters, changing light bulbs, making sure restrooms are clean, Lobby water Bottles are changed for drinking, Stocking supplies,etc. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Caskets/human remains CANNOT BE AFRAID OF THE DEAD or to be ALONE IN FACILITY. Basic Computer skills. Ensure mechanical (Vehicles) equipment is in working order and fixed as necessary. Complete general building cleaning and maintenance. (we have janitorial service) Maintain trash and recycling receptacles around the facility. Funeral attendants work closely with the funeral manager to assist on Services. Driving the hearse (must have a matching black suit) white shirt, tie, black dress shoes). Must have good speaking voice to politely speak with people attending services. Directing them to seating in the chapel, or to restrooms. Line up cars for funeral procession, set up chapel for services, make sure sound system is on in chapel, set up slide show for viewings or funerals. Most common work hours are 10am-2pm Monday- Friday. On Some occasions you will have to arrive by 8am for early funerals and leave the cemetery on late days after 2pm. (sometimes long funerals). The death industry is a 24 hr/7 day a week business. We are the busiest around the Holidays (November through January). There is opportunity for Full time/Overtime. PLEASE E-MAIL RESUME
