Seeking news of a special kitten we tried to adopt a few years ago

Meets

Willamette near 29th, Eugene OR

Description

Two or three years ago, during this big snowstorm, our electricity went out and we headed for the PetSmart on 29th and Willamette to warm up and have a look around. My kids fell in love with a fluffy tabby kitten that was up for adoption. He (or she?) had a short bunny-type tail; it looked just like our beloved tabby cat back home, except smaller and maybe just a wee bit puffier. My kids named it Grandpa (don't ask me why) and we put in an application but got rejected b/c the woman from the pet rescue place felt we had "too many kids." Maybe she was working through her own trauma over being childless, who knows. My children (who are admittedly numerous) wept sadly. We ended up adopting a different kitten and all is well with the cats in our household, they are all very well loved, but my kids and I still sometimes wonder whatever happened to that one special cat with the bunny tail. It was so unique we feel sure someone on Craigslist will know who adopted it and maybe share info with us about her (or his?) new home. Please reach out if you have any information.
