Description
Must have at least 3 years’ experience as maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing facility.
Position Summary:
This Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintenance activities that are performed to keep a plastic facility up and running. Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain/repair mechanical and electrical material handling equipment to ensure the least possible interruption of service
• Perform required preventative maintenance on equipment within the plant
• Promptly and accurately complete all work order requests
• Assess the overall running conditions of mechanical and electrical material handling systems and report any issues to the Facilities Manager
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, lubricators, hoses, and coils
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps
• Diagnose problems, dismantle defective machines and equipment, and install new or repaired parts
• Diagnose basic electrical issues as they arise
• Monitor supply inventory for accuracy and availability
• Requires lifting of objects as part of the job.
