Learning Objectives:
-Explore how and why SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity and expression) matters to the work of public service
-Discuss shared values, expectations and mandates as professionals and connections to LGBTQ competency.
-Improve participants’ knowledge of and comfort with appropriate terminology.
-Explore the impact of human experiences related to LGBTQ people and SOGIE.
-Explain the connection between early messages and unconscious bias
-Reflect on participants’ roles as messengers and what current messages
LGBTQ youth and parents are receiving in their practice setting.
