Payroll City will be joining us with additional practical information for your business. On Nov. 3, 2020, Colorado voters approved a measure to create a Paid Family & Medical Leave program. Contributions to the program are expected to begin January 1, 2023 with benefits payable in 2024. The state of Colorado with the Division of Family and Medical Leave Insurance is currently developing its PFML program, including specifics on how it will be implemented. Key Dates November 3, 2020: Colorado voters approved Proposition 118 that established the creation of a PFML program.January 1, 2023: Contributions to fund the program are scheduled to begin.January 1, 2024: Benefits are scheduled to begin.What’s Covered Under the State Programs? Caring for a new child (through birth, adoption, or foster placement) during the first year after birth, adoption or foster placement.Caring for a family member with a serious health condition.Tending to the employee’s own serious health condition.For any qualifying emergency leave (e.g., for certain needs related to a family member's military service).Taking Safe Leave for an employee experiencing specified issues related to domestic violence, sexual assault or abuse, or stalking.Need additional details on how this directly impacts your business in particular?
