Description

Ever wonder what you should do if you are the first person to come across a sick, injured or deceased whale, dolphin, seal or sea turtle on your local beach? Join Friends of the Bay as we host the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) for a hands-on First Responder Training! AMSEAS biologists will briefly discuss the marine mammals and sea turtles in our waters, and will demonstrate some of the techniques and data collection procedures responders use during a stranding event. Finally, learn the proper protocol a first responder should follow when arriving on the scene of a stranded marine mammal or sea turtle. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the presentation. This presentation will be taking place at the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Please register in advance for this presentation. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
