Learn about Professional Sumo & Amateur SumoSpecial Extended Training Session for American Sumo WrestlersMeet & Greet with Photos/VideosLimited Edition Merchandise Audience Q&AGAGAMARU MASARU is a former professional sumo wrestler in Japan, originally from Tbilisi, Georgia. He is the third Georgian national after Kokkai and Tochinoshin to make the top makuuchi division, he made his professional debut in November 2005, reaching the jūryō division in November 2009 and makuuchi in July 2010. After recently retiring in November 2020 - He wants to share his story of what it was like to be one of very few Europeans to compete in Japan's national sport and he wants to help train American wrestlers. He will be joined by special guest AMIRAN TSIKORIDZE, who is a current European sumo champion and also from Georgia. He wants to train against American wrestlers and help better our sumo and make his professional debut soon. Europeans have long been the primary medal winners, outside of Japan. This event is not only for amateur sumo wrestlers - but all grapplers, wrestlers and combat sport athletes.
