Jerald Payne is a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker with 23 years of clinical experience. He has an outpatient therapy practice but has also provided treatment services in foster homes, group homes, and detention centers. In his private practice, he sees children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Mr. Payne received his bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in Pre-Law/Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (1992), and his master’s in social work from the University of Kansas (1998). He has been a field instructor for the University of Kansas School of Social Work program and has 20 years of experience providing clinical supervision to LMSW level therapists preparing for advanced clinical licensure. Jerald Payne serves on the board of The Metropolitan Association of African American Psychotherapists and LEGACY Foundation. Mr. Payne has written columns for Diezel Magazine and The Kansas City Mental Health Examiner and authored the book, Therapist Notes. His next book, JP: Asked and Answered, will be released in 2022. He is the co-host of the radio show, Cognitions: Speaking the Unspeakable with JP and Stacy D. He is also the co-host of the podcast, The Alpha Male Perspective, which launches in January 2022.
