The systematic effort to undermine and destroy a group's mind and values is a higher form of killing, the rape of the mind. An act of brainwashing (also known as mind control, mentacide, coercive persuasion, thought control, thought reform, and reeducation) is the concept that the human mind can be altered or controlled by specific psychological techniques. Brainwashing is said to reduce its subject's ability to think critically or independently, introduce new, unwanted thoughts and ideas into their minds, and change their attitudes, values, and beliefs.
