In continuing its commitment to the community and its mission to bring people together and create memories, Barrio Queen, the restaurant known for its award-winning food and the most extensive selection of tequilas and mezcals in the Valley is once again offering its popular hands-on summer cooking classes. The classes are appropriate for both adults and children and will be held on Saturday, August 27 at the Desert Ridge Marketplace location (21001 N. Tatum Blvd., Phoenix, AZ 85050). Not only do they support the brand’s mission to encourage and promote family togetherness, but each one benefits Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Barrio Queen has a long history of supporting Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Barrio Queen believes that cooking brings people together—it allows family to gather; teach and create stories; pass down family recipes; and most importantly, spend time in the moment, creating special lifelong memories. Cooking together can also be a special parenting time and helps form closer bonds. It creates the perfect opportunity for listening, sharing, and talking.
“Family is important to our culture and offering ways for families to gather and make memories is part of our mission as a company,” says Chef Julio Mata. “We are excited to help bring people together, and even more so, to do so to for a good cause.”
All ages will enjoy the hands-on classes, which are taught by the Barrio Queen Head Chef. Attendees will learn how to make three signature dishes; and leave with a special gift bag; a printed recipe card; and of course, fun memories.
