The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Aug. 17. Rasheed Wesley is headlining the show and Sean Day and Ryan Garcia are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters. Ryan Garcia is a Rochester-based comic who's performed all over the area in Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and New York City. He won RIT's Funniest Comic in 2019, performed at sold-out Fringe Festival shows and was a semifinalist in Rochester's Funniest Person in 2019. Hot, humble, and good at writing his own bios, Garcia can be seen performing on shows all over the state, including Rochester's Comedy at the Carlson. Sean Day is a Rochester comedian and former co-host of Hate This Podcast. Working consistently in Rochester, Buffalo and Syracuse, Day is becoming an area favorite. He was named Rochester’s Funniest Person in 2019 and is a regular at Comedy at the Carlson. Day has opened for Harland Williams and Tim Meadows. Williamsport comedian Rasheed Wesley Jr., a Chester, Pa., native, has been performing consistently in the North Central region of Pennsylvania since 2016 and worked at the Broadway Comedy Club in New York City. Known for his stage presence, storytelling and unique life perspectives on race, family and his own sexuality, Wesley, Jr. has performed with the likes of Mark Viola, Jennifer McAuliffe, Krish Mohan and Chris Thayer.
