SHIPPING & RECEIVING SUPERVISOR - FISCHER PRODUCE Please email your resume in order to receive a text or a call back! Full-time, salaried position depending on experience & qualifications Health Insurance Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision) Shifts begin most days at 3:00am QUALIFICATIONS: • Driver's License (Required) • US work authorization (Required) • Proficient in Computer Systems including email, word processing, and other business application programs (including our warehouse inventory management software) • Looking for someone who arrives on time for shifts and brings a strong attention to detail • Able to multi-task as well as work independently, and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard practices in the food distribution industry. • Able to read and analyze pick tickets, pull sheets, invoices, Lot number tracing and expiration dates • Clean driving record is necessary (may be required to drive a box truck on occasion) • Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, some of which is outdoors and some inside temperature-controlled produce coolers • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at times THE COMPANY: Fischer Produce has been part of the Columbus community for 80+ years and we are growing! Our dedicated warehouse and delivery team serves many local restaurants, care homes, schools, and other establishments by delivering fresh produce, dairy, eggs, and other food items. JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE: • Select and palletize produce and dairy orders for delivery to food service establishments accurately (counting product volume, confirming appropriate lot numbers, quality assurance, etc.) • Assist in the day-to-day shipping and receiving operations such as picking and staging delivery orders, loading and unloading of fresh produce off delivery trucks, and receiving and proper storage of all products • Under direction of the General Manager, oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse to prevent spoilage or outdated product or material • Complete daily and monthly facility checklists and keep warehouse organized-- including but not limited to-- keep coolers swept, clean, and organized; maintain electric jacks, plugging them in at days end; copmlete housekeeping tasks as assigned • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner • Maintain company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity in the warehouse area • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; maintains conformity to all company, customer and government standards; and ensures compliance to all federal, state, and local laws and company policies. • Report any food safety issues to upper management • Follow all workplace safety procedures per safety training • All issues of non-conformance related to quality control or food safety must immediately be reported to the General manager or President for communication with the food safety team • Actively supports the company's goal and objectives as defined by the Leadership Team (President, General Manager, and Distribution Manager) • Participates in employee development through training, adhering to food safety regulations, and modeling “best practices” in overall operations • Participates in biweekly all staff meetings and occasional leadership meetings • Perform any shipping and receiving task that may be assigned by the Distribution Manager, General Manager or President (or appropriate designee)
