Description

BLU, shelter number D20-12018, is a friendly male pit bull/border collie mix. He was surrendered to the shelter along with TULIE, a German shepherd. Blue is a very nice dog and has no health or behavioral issues that we know of. He is neutered and may be current on shots. Animal Control is checking with his vet about the shots. Blu is about two years old and weighs about 50 pounds. Blu has short hair and will not tolerate cold weather very well. He should at least be allowed to sleep indoors and be brought in during cold, wet or stormy weather during the day if possible. He should have plenty of water and good shade if left outside in the summer. He has the temperament to make a good house dog and ideally would be an indoor/outdoor dog in his new home. He should be good with kids of all ages and with other dogs. With any of our dogs, it’s a good idea for potential adopters with other dogs at home to bring them out to meet the potential adoptee dog before making a final decision. Levelland Animal Control is understaffed right now and adoptions are by appointment only. If you would like to meet Blu or any of our other dogs for a possible adoption, please call AREA CODE EIGHT ZERO SIX, EIGHT NINE ONE-ZERO EIGHT TWO NINE, from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday; If that number doesn’t answer, call AREA CODE EIGHT ZERO SIX, EIGHT NINE FOUR-SIX ONE SIX FOUR, and tell them you are interested in adopting a dog. You may need to refer to Blu by his shelter number, D20-12018, when talking to an Animal Control employee. It is unclear right now if they are making appointments for Saturdays and Sundays. You can ask and see what they say. All our dogs are vaccinated for Parvo, distemper, Bordetella (kennel cough) and most other common dog diseases. We do not vaccinate them for Rabies. There is no adoption fee, but the adopter will be responsible for having the dog spayed or neutered and for the Rabies shot. Check the Google map for directions to the shelter.
