Position:  Group Leader (Teacher)  General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities: The Group Leader is responsible for the direct care to the children attending Arlington Boys & Girls Club After School Program. Supervision Received: Under the general supervision of the Program Administrator and Site Coordinator. Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for the daily activities. • Responsible for the supervision of the children participating in the Afterschool Program, including the whereabouts of each child in their group. • Records daily attendance • Provides daily snack and lets Site Coordinator know when supplies are low. • Responsible for the safety and well-being of the children • Participates in two hours of staff meetings per month. • Responsible for the daily upkeep of the program rooms and reports any repair needs to the Program Administrator • Handles discipline problems in the manner consistent with the program’s behavior management policy. • Participates in trainings and courses in professional growth Qualifications and Entrance Requirements: • The Group Leader must be at least 18 years of age • High School Diploma or equivalent (some college experience preferred) • At least six months of half-time experience working with children, including 3 months of in-service training under the supervision of the Program Administrator. • Current First Aid and CPR certifications (onsite training available if applicant does not have aforementioned certifications). • Required to attend professional development training approved by the Department of Early Education and Care (professional development workshops will be arranged by the Program Administrator). Supervision Received:Under the general supervision of the Program Administrator, Site Coordinator, and Group Leader. Duties and Responsibilities:• Assists Group Leader with organizing games and activities for children in grades Kindergarten to 5th grade.• Actively engage with children while they participate in activities.• Works under the direct supervision of the Group Leader and carries out duties assigned by the Group Leader.• The Assistant Group Leader will attend staff meetings.• Participates in trainings and courses in professional growth. Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:• The Group Leader must be at least 16 years of and be enrolled in a High School Program.• Required to take part in professional development training as arranged by the Afterschool Program Administrator.Other:• Hours: Monday through Friday – varied days 3:00pm to 6pm Click here to apply.
