Position Summary: We are seeking to hire a full-time Ground Crew Associate to join our newly constructed, exclusive golf course in Northeast Tarrant County. This is a beautiful 9-hole golf course recently completed by a world class architect. The ideal candidate will be hard working, have an eye for detail and strive to provide our guests with the best possible experience. We take pride in providing tournament conditions daily and look to improve every day. The full-time Ground Crew Associate will work under the direction of the golf course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in a supervisory capacity. Responsibilities include basic work assignments, overseeing job performance, and inspecting course conditions. Responsibilities: The position will entail various aspects of golf course and facilities maintenance including: Daily mowing practices of Greens, Tees/Fairways, and playing surfaces. Daily bunker maintenance such as, raking, debris and weed removal, trimming, and sand depth management. Applying sand topdressing applications to all playing surfaces. Managing barranca and cart trail detail. Assisting the Assistant Superintendent as needed with applications and course set up. Assist with cultural practices such as aerifications, as needed. Hand watering and moisture management. Assist with the completion of work assignments by crewmembers and assist with field decisions regarding job procedures, work standards, and machinery use. Participate in safe working conditions with all job assignments and is responsible for instructing staff on proper equipment use and work methods. Assist with building maintenance program and improvement projects. Reports golf course conditions to the golf course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in golf course construction and management; landscape area management; and building maintenance and improvement. Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment. Basic knowledge of agronomy, turfgrass science, and the rules of golf. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers and various types of pumps and pumping systems. Must be dependable, on time and flexible. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior landscape and related golf course maintenance experience, a plus. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions. Uniforms will be provided. Working Hours: Weekdays 6:00 am – 2:00pm; Weekends 6:00am – 11:00am. The schedule will six days a week with one weekday off. Some overtime will be available.
