We, East Portland Care Center, are a local nursing home in need of volunteers to go for walks with our residents and play games such as Bingo, and Uno. Policy Statement Prospective volunteers or individuals representing a group or organization are required to complete a volunteer application. Policy Interpretation and Implementation 1. All prospective volunteers complete a volunteer application form. 2. Reference and background checks are made and completed by the Director of Volunteers. 3. Volunteer applicants are required to undergo the same routine screening for communicable diseases as employee applicants. 4. Volunteers are required to complete a volunteer orientation and training program prior to working with residents. 5. Completed applications are retained in the volunteer file for future reference.
