Our farm produces premium California rice varieties and permanent tree crops including almonds, pecans, and walnuts. JOB TITLE: Farm Laborer and Equipment Operator Shift: Full-Time; 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, overtime required Compensation: $20 an hour DOE Key Responsibilities: The farm laborer/equipment operator participates in field preparation, crop harvesting, fertilizing and spraying rice and orchard crops utilizing various equipment, tools and mechanical devices. The position requires the ability to maintain, repair, drive and control all forms of farm machinery and equipment used to till soil, plant, cultivate and harvest crops as well as, there is manual labor for pruning, weeding and orchard irrigation, repairs and other duties as assigned by management. • Must possess a valid, current drivers’ license • Knowledgeable in the operation and functions of farm machinery • Assist with planting and harvesting • Assist with tillage during spring work and after harvest • Perform equipment cleaning, maintenance and repairs • Keep accurate logs of all maintenance and repairs completed • Assist with other general labor tasks as needed • Operate tractors and backhoes when necessary to complete tasks Non-Essential Responsibilities: • Other duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma a plus • Previous experience in a rice and/or nut orchard a plus • Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision. • Strong teamwork skills • Must be organized and know how to maintain equipment. • Need to have excellent manual dexterity and should be able to work with small, detailed objects.
