Drummer Looking: For Creative, Unique, Smart and Weird

Austin Musicians, I'm a drummer who is getting tired of playing with records, drumless tracks and Drumeo. I've been a bass player my entire life and am quite good but about a year ago I re-took up the drums and have gotten to a place where I want to play with people again. I'm not Neil Peart by any stretch, but I've got some skills. I can keep a good beat, swing, have a great sense of dynamics and am very creative. Influences range from the Grateful Dead, Miles Davis, David Bowie, Talking Heads, King Crimson, Wilco, Goose, James Brown, TOOL, The Cure, The Beatles, Prefab Sprout, The Smiths, The Allman Brothers band and everything in between. Good music comes in all forms and styles - I care mostly about craftsmanship and approach, not auto-tuned overly produced studio layering (even though there is some good music in that genre too). I've been playing bass for years, went to Berklee and have played with tons of musicians better than me. As a drummer, its been awhile since I've played with others but I am ready. That said, I'm not in any rush to join a group that is anxious to get a record deal - lets just see how it goes and take it organically. Also, I have my kit set up in a garage thats also a mini demo studio where a full band can play. Got lucky on that one...
