In 2020, The Third Place set out to organize Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) within various sectors of Maine’s economy. The goal of this effort has been simple - to connect talented BIPOC professionals with peers in their sector or field. Over the past year, we have witnessed the power of sector networking groups in troubleshooting workplace issues, finding mentors, collaborating on projects, and even starting businesses. Our hope is that these groups become useful resources for new and existing BIPOC professionals who have chosen to live and work in Maine.
