Our award-winning Junior Ranger program engages with children to make an oath to protect their beloved state parks and share their ranger stories with friends and family. Eldorado Canyon State Park is looking for future young ambassadors of the park. The programs offer fun interactive outdoor games, learning activities, and fun crafts each with a unique theme. Children who attend the programs will earn their official Junior Ranger badge and certificate. For this event, we will learn about the different species of aquatic insects by South Boulder Creek and how to properly collect and identify them with the necessary tools provided. Please arrive a few minutes early, the program will begin promptly at 9:30 am; meet at Eldorado Canyon Visitor Center located at 9 Kneale Road, Eldorado Springs, CO 80025.PLEASE NOTE: For this program, you will NOT need a park reservation but upon entry please let the Gate Attendant know you are here for the Junior Ranger Program Eldo Shuttle is strongly recommended to save parking and it is FREE no need for park reservation (not including Park Pass) For more information and shuttle map, please visit: https://www.bouldercoloradousa.com/outdoors/hiking/hiker-shuttles/eldo-shuttle/This event is for children ages 6-12 with a parent and/or adult guardian required to be presentProgram admission is up to 9 children (not including parents)Restrooms are available at visitor centerThe program is free, but a valid Colorado State Park's Pass is required to enter and can be purchased at the entrance station or visitor center. The fee is $10 per vehicle.Please bring sunscreen, snacks, and dress for changing weather.
