Although Covid caused many changes to education, reading and language arts remain important areas of learning and the Margaret M. Generali Foundation recognizes this fact. The reception will also be the launch of the 2022-23 grant applications. This will be the 24th academic year the Foundation has awarded grants and we hope to continue to honor Maggie Generali’s legacy for many more. We will be honoring the following recipients from 2019-2022: The recipients for the 2019-20 school year were Mary Beth Gallo, Sacred Heart Middle School; Dr. Alena Cybart-Persenaire and Doreen Lawson, Kennedy High School; Marci Hinton, Wilby High School; Mallory Brito, Washington School and Jolee Iannantuoni, Wallace Middle School. The 2020-2021 grant recipients were Mr. Paul Singley, Wilby High School; Mrs. Carla Guglielmo, Kennedy High School and Dr. Alena Cybart-Persenaire, Kennedy High School. The 2021-2022 recipients were Mary Beth Gallo, Catholic Academy of Waterbury, Melissa M’Sadoques, Catholic Academy of Waterbury and Kelly Donahue from Crosby High School.
