ABOUT THE WHITE TIE PICNIC Celebrated around the world on August 9th, International Coworking Day is a salute to the ways in which the world of work is changing–for the better. Across the Greater Kitsap region and throughout the world, coworking spaces are helping people work happier, healthier and more connected than ever before. The pandemic been a powerful reminder that: A) we truly are better together and B) real, authentic community matters. With six coworking spaces located across the West Sound region, the White Tie Picnic In The Park provides an opportunity for Kitsap’s coworking space members, and their family, friends, and champions to come together in person to celebrate all the ways that the flexible work community enriches our lives. WHO'S INVITED All members of coworking spaces in the greater Kitsap region Family and friends of coworking space members Members of the community who are advocates of coworking, and have been directly invited by a member of any of the partner coworking spaces involved with the event HOW DOES IT WORK Guests are invited to come dressed head-to-toe in white and bring a picnic to enjoy together at Centennial Park Blankets will be provided, and will be assigned upon ticket purchase. Guests are responsible for bringing all other picnic accessories, food, and blanket decor. Prizes will be awarded for best picnic blanket decor, best dressed, and more - have fun, and get creative! Tickets are required; all ages are welcome. Bar, or go classic picnic-style and bring food of your own choosing) Live music performed by your fellow coworking space members Lawn games organized by each of the partner coworking spaces Prizes for the most festive picnic area, best dressed in white, etc. FEATURED NONPROFIT The White Tie Picnic In The Park is proud to support Love Me For Me, a local nonprofit committed to supporting youth entrepreneurs in grades K - 9 learn what it takes to develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at at a community marketplace held in Bremerton. EVENT RULES WEAR WHITE We’re talking head-to-toe! Aim for true white – not ivory, not cream, not other colors. Skip “pop” colors. Stick to all white! Ideas: white hats, white jackets, white wigs, white tie or bow tie, white sneakers… Originality is encouraged, as long as it stays stylish and tasteful. BRING ALL NECESSARY SUPPLIES FOR YOUR DINNER I.e. food, plates, silverware, glasses / water bottles, low-sitting lawn chairs (or skip chairs and sit on your blanket!), fun (all-white!) decorations (think florals, battery-operated candles, WEAR WHITE, BUT THINK GREEN Join us in our endeavor to make this a Zero Waste event. Please bring only reusable dinner supplies, decor, costume pieces, etc. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF Clean up after yourself, and take all recyclables and landfill items to the designated Trashy Taskforce stations NO ALCOHOL! Much as we’d like to have designated space for adult beverages, the liquor laws are not on our side this time around. This will be a dry event.
