Since then, we've come through what we hope to be the worst of the pandemic and look forward to enjoying an evening of Honors and Recognition, as we celebrate 20 for '22 in our first 'Caregiver Recognition Dinner'. Date: Friday, August 19, 2022 Location: South Shore Cultural Center WHO WE ARE RUN YOUR MILES PROJECT is dedicated to bringing awareness to the more than 4.6 million families who serve as caregiver to a loved one diagnosed with cancer. We recognize the integral role of a family caregiver and the difference they make in the treatment process. CANCER IS A FAMILY DIAGNOSIS; everyone is affected. We know that recent medical advancements along with technology has given patients more choices and the opportunity to continue treatment within the home setting. And with this comes the responsibility of family to insure the patient is receiving and responding well to therapies. The reality is most family members come to this place with little to no experience. This lack of training has shown to severely impact the level of care in achieving the best possible outcome for patient. RYM helps family caregivers to develop the confidence in their role. We work to prepare these family member to meet the challenge being a caregiver to loved ones demands.
