Want to learn how to land that “big” musical moment? Having trouble catching musical breaks? Looking to adapt to both fast, and slow music? This lesson is for you! For our July event, Can will be teaching musicality in fusion dancing. This lesson will teach you how to interpret the hallmarks of musical dancing: phrasing, tempo, and lyrical expression. It will provide you a chance to refresh and refine foundational technique and connection, and you will walk away with some cool choreography. This lesson is both beginner friendly, and useful for dancers of all levels! When and Where: Saturday July 30, 2022 7-11pm Soul Bite: 423 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 Lesson and all night social dancing for: $10 Meet Our Instructor Can Aksoy is our instructor and DJ for July! Can has danced for 20 years and specializes in Latin Ballroom, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Blues, and Fusion dancing. A long-time competitor (he and Olivia Seitz partner for nightclub!), he is an alum of the Claremont College Ballroom Dance Team and Dancesport @ UCSB (formally Cotillion), where he served as president, coach, DJ, and competition team captain. Can DJs, coaches, and organizes events for Dancesport @ UCSB, Angel City Fusion, Revolution Fusion, Underground Blues, and the Claremont Colleges. Special Event Info We would like to celebrate the life of William Stansbury by dedicating this month's blues event to his memory. Profits from this event will be donated to a charity in his honor. Bringing Back Blues Fusion to SB Starlight Blues is a volunteer group of dancers who want to encourage friendship and growth within the Blues Fusion community here in Santa Barbara. We would love to promote YOUR dance events from all across the different genres whether it's Line Dancing, Salsa, Swing or anything you're passionate about!
