News & Brews: Why are WITF reporters texting the news?

Earlier this year WITF reporters launched text clubs about their beats to keep listeners informed and give them a chance to suggest story ideas and topics. Over 150 community members (and counting!) have signed up and we're excited to share highlights from recent reporting shaped by community input. Sometimes simple questions and ideas can lead to big stories. At this News & Brews session guests will hear from Rachel McDevitt WITF's StateImpact Pennsylvania Reporter as she discusses her "Driving an EV in PA" story. She asked for your questions about electric vehicles through her text club PA Climate News and her reporting focused on getting the answers. We'll also explore PA Capitol News Chatter with WITF Capitol Bureau Chief Sam Dunklau. He'll talk about how his loyal text clubbers kept the PA State Budget questions flowing and how that informed his reporting process.
